One Button Dual
A downloadable game for Windows
This is an entry for the Potions and Pixels One Button Challenge.
RECENT UPDATES
I added a timer for when the dual starts. The dual starts in 200 seconds. Made the upgrades simpler and easier to understand. Here are the upgrades you can receive:
- Attack: +10 Weapon Damage
- Endurance: +25 Max HP
- Reflex: +25% Attack Rate & +5% Critical Damage Bonus
- Protection: +20 Battle Armor & +5% Block Damage Reduction
(Note: Battle Armor is just bonus HP you get at the start of each fight.)
HOW TO PLAY
Bottom left player is controlled by pressing any of these keys: QWEASDZXC
Top right player is controlled by pressing any of the numpad numbers
The goal of the game is to prepare your characters to dual at the end. The dual starts after 5 minutes.
You fight monsters to gain money, and you use that money at shops to buy stat upgrades.
In a fight, you can press your button right when you hit the enemy to deal bonus damage.
You can also press your button right when the enemy hits you to block the attack and reduce damage.
If you press and hold your button in combat while no one is attacking, you'll consume 1 of your 2 potions to heal your character a bit.
To buy upgrades from shops, press and hold the button down.

It's an interesting concept. Personally i think that 5 minutes is way too long to start the dual. I would recommend a shorter time or a trigger that shows up that you can press when you are ready. When both players are ready the dual can start.
If you play again, it is down to 200 seconds, and there is a visible timer. I still don't have a lot of tutorialization and there is no sound, but these are all things I'm currently working on. I may release a new demo in a month or two. This was just for a local contest, but I intend to take it further, allow for full controller support and more than just one button, and do a lot with the project.
Parallax looks great, it looks like a really cool idea sorry im not able to play it to the fullest
The game is now playable and in a more complete state if you wish to try again :). I would appreciate it!
